Steve Strange of Visage dies at 55

According to his Facebook page, the legendary Steve Strange of Visage (““Fade to Grey”) has died.

“We are extremely saddened to announce that Steve Strange died at 11.15 local time on Thursday 12th February, in Sharm El Sheik International Hospital, Egypt. Steve died in his sleep, of Heart Failure. Steve’s family, band members and friends are all distraught at this sudden news of his untimely death. Steve’s family request privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Visage initially split in 1985 and was resurrected by Strange in 2004. The new line-up was rounded out by Steve Barnacle, Robin Simon (ex Ultravox) and Lauren Duvall. In 2013, Visage put out “Hearts and Knives,” their first album since 1984, and started touring again.

In December 2014, Visage released ‘Orchestral,’ an album containing new versions of their best known songs backed by Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Czech Synthosynphonica Orchestra and others.
