Casper: "It's a proper live show. We don't just twiddle the knobs and make the same sounds as what you hear on the record. We actually do it live. Darius plays bass and guitar, I do the synths and the sampling, and we've got an MC called Saul [their step-brother] whose on one of the tracks on the album. We have it big time, we don't hold back. We're fucking jumping around the stage. It's a kind of backlash against the electronic stuff which is just someone standing there with a computer pressing the occasional button."
Do you write with live performance in mind, or just worry about it later?
Casper:"We generally figure it out afterwards, work out how to make it work best live. We have problems with memory, the samplers run out of memory because we can't fit all the parts of the song in it. But we get around it. We play a lot of the stuff live. The main thing about when we're in the studio is that we just try to make it as energetic as we can at the time. When we do it live, we get the breakbeats rolling so we've got the beats and the background firing away and it just gives us all the vibe to thrash it out onstage."
