New website coming soon! (and in the meantime check out these recent interviews!)

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Sorry about the lack of updates lately, but I’ve been busy working on a new version of Chaos Control! It will stick to the same general format / look & feel, but be opened up more design-wise to take advantage of larger screen resolutions. In addition, a few new features will be added. This new version will be online sometime this fall, but in the meantime new interviews ARE being added to the existing site. Recently, interviews with Stereo Total, Rasputina, and Goon Moon were posted, and coming very soon will be a new interview with Underworld. Be sure to keep checking back, and if you have any suggestions for site improvements feel free to email me.

Snowbot

In celebration of the holiday season, I’ve created an animated short called “Snowbot!” The video features original music and tells the story of a friendly robotic alien visitor who has a run-in with a giant snowflake.Click here to view “Snowbot!” on youTube.

Pretty Tasty CakesMy wife Janet has set up a blog to showcase the amazing cakes that she has been creating (the image you see here is “super choco robo cake,” made for my birthday this past year.)

Also a glassblower, Janet truly makes each cake a work of art. And, most importantly, they are also delicious!!

Sonic The Hedgehog turns 15!

Friday, October 13th, 2006

Sonic The HedgehogYesterday I got to attend Sonic The Hedgehog’s 15th birthday celebration in NY (part of the annual Digital Life consumer electronics show.) Sonic had a huge cake, which he generously shared with industry and media attendees. In recent years, a few people have asked if I got the name “Chaos Control’ from the games, as the term is used in them to describe powers related to the “Chaos Emeralds.” However, this is not the case, The hedgehog was a decade old when ‘Chaos Control’ was introduced (in the game “Sonic Advance 2.”)

Calling all bands, musicians and DJs….

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

We’re launching a new column in Chaos Control Digizine spotlighting musical acts recommended by other bands/solo artists/Djs. If there’s a particular band/musician you feel that others should know about, let us know! Just send a paragraph or so explaining why you like them, as well as a paragraph about YOURSELF (background info and/or news, so you’ll get some exposure out of this!) Please email to chaoszine@gmail.com.

Chaos Control Hypercard editionBefore the web as we know it was in wide use, Chaos Control Digizine was published in Macintosh HYPERCARD format. It was cheap (actually free until the color version came out) and provided a lot of possibilities for interactivity and multimedia. These issues were posted on various online and BBS services, as well as distributed on disk (floppy!) Looking at these Hypercard issues again, they stand up pretty well (despite an overuse of Kai’s Powertools in the color editions!). To provide a peek at the origins of Chaos Control Digizine, we’ve posted issues #2 and #8 for downloading. Of course you’ll need a Macintosh to view them, as well as the Hypercard player (follow the link below if you need it.) Unfortunately, Hypercard was never updated for OSX, so it will launch classic mode. Please ignore any weirdness, such as text occasionally getting cut off due to font issues , as these ARE over a decade old!

Chaos Control and Kenny Rogers?

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

While we have no plans to take Chaos Control Digizine country, I was recently called upon to re-design the official Kenny Rogers website! Check it out at kennyrogers.com. This is just the initial re-design; more content will be added in the future. For more samples of my work, check out the portfolio page.
