"I've been getting really into the African-Brazilian heritage, the voodoo side of it," says Max. "I've been reading up on it and I can see myself getting really into that really easy. And that would lead to a different experience for Sepultura, going through that stuff."

"I'm a big fan of the band Dead Can Dance, that's probably a big influence on why I want to do this stuff," he adds. "There's so much you can do and as long as it's done in the proper way with honesty and heart it can be a nice work. I know other people criticize it, but I personally like the work the Paul Simon did in Brazil and South Africa. People were upset because he's an American, but I think it was a great work. I believe that it doesn't matter where you're from. With Sepultura, it was more appropriate because we were doing it in our own country, but that doesn't mean that's the only way. I can see ourselves doing things in other countries."
